Students’ reflective thinking process in mathematical problem-solving reviewed from self-confidence

The reflective thinking process is a crucial skill to develop by students. However, the students’ has been far from expected. One of reasons because in solving mathematical problems, students are less thorough and rush without rechecking their work, resulting they unaware any mistake made. Besides, self-confidence should also be noticed as each student different magnitude self-confidence. This study aims describe problem-solving reviewed research employed qualitative research, involving three out 22 year 9 one junior high schools Aceh Barat Daya, Indonesia. subject selection using purposive sampling, which consisted with self-confidence, moderate low Data collection were conducted questionnaire, test items, interviews. data was analyzed descriptive method, including reduction, presentation, concluding. results showed that: (1) step problem-solving; (2) steps (3) only problem-solving, namely understanding problem: identifying information that known asked being able select existing knowledge solve problems.
